Something has been on my mind today, and I thought I'd share it with you. It concerns ectopic pregnancy. The reason I've been thinking about this is because in one of my stories, a character suffers from an ectopic pregnancy.
If you don't know what an E.P. is, it's when a fertillized egg is implanted outside the uterus, sometimes in a fallopian tube. Obviously, there is no way the baby can survive and the mother's life is put in serious jeopardy. As the child begins to grow, the tube eventually reaches the point where it will rupture, resulting in blood spotting and, in most cases, severe pain. To save the mother's life, doctors recommend the removal of the baby, meaning that the child's life is ended.
You all know how I feel about abortion. But I'm conflicted on this issue. I've heard that it's possible for doctors to move the fertillized egg to its proper place. Is that true?
Any thoughts on this matter?
