twohumble,
I have an earnest desire for the truth. The Lord I already have. He indwells me by the power of His Holy Spirit.
But that desire for the truth was what led me to be impressed by Setterfield's work in the first place. It is data based. He asked me to do some editing for him six yers ago, and at first I refused, as our areas of expertise are different. However I did end up working with him. I found him to be brilliant, actually, and extremely well-versed on the data in the subjects he was working with. He is the first and only scientist I have worked with (and as an editor I had worked with a few), who approached his material data first instead of theory first.
Is he a Christian? Yes, he is. Does he have 'conversations with God'? He has an active prayer life but that is not quite what you are trying to get at, I think. Nevertheless, I have seen him down on his knees before the Lord when he feels stymied about an equation or something else to do with his work.
We became friends. Enough so that in two days we will have been married four years.
I remain impressed by his ability to deal with detractors in a gracious and fact-filled way. I remain impressed by his humility, which allows him to be corrected.
I am also impressed by the number of physicists, geologists, and other scientists who are willing to travel great distances for a chance to see him and talk to him. We have been invited to tour Europe and a number of parts of Asia, because physicists want to know more about his work.
He is highly respected around the world, although not among died in the wool evolutionists!
I kept my identity known only to the other moderators for awhile. But I think I have established myself here as credible when it comes to data, which you, in your ad hominem attack, ignored. So let's discuss data and not people, OK?
You say he was off on so many things. Please feel free to start a new thread about where you think he has been wrong and I'll try to corner him long enough to feed me responses if he does not have the time to respond himself.
