I followed through to the Birth of Jesus on the other page linked at the bottom of the one you linked. That is also very good, with a slight frown on my part when the author started injecting some of his own ideas about why God told the shepherds only. On that page, by the way, the author missed a small point. The sheep were out in the fields only in the spring and the fall, during the two lambing times, so the ewes would have enough space to lie down and give birth and their young would not be trampled by the other sheep, as would happen in an enclosure. So Jesus had to be born in the spring or fall. The rest of that page, however, is quite good. Thank you again for the link. |
