Peace daddy.
Not a catholic here. Christian, batized Lutheran.
I believe in communion. For not what I was taught, but for what I believe in my heart.
Jesus broke bread and poured wine, professing it was his body and blood, given to them. Just as Jesus knew his fate; that he would sacrifice his body and blood for the sins of the world.
When I take communion, I have no belief that I am eating flesh or drinking blood. Nor am I a cannabilist.
When I take it, I am reminded of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for man kind. And I thank him for every drop of His blood spilt, from the whipping to the hanging of the Cross.
Every drop spilt was for the sins of man, even to this day. His offering of bread and wine as his body and blood, were his professions of his flesh sacrifice to the world.
Peace and Godspeed to you.
