And I believe that 100% of those who toss the word "homophobe" around are those who lack any belief in any higher power no matter how you define higher power.
Gay activists and gay supporters abuse the term "homophobe" to such an extent it has become a word to describe any person of faith or lack of any faith who oppose legalizing any and all demands of gay activists. I personally know atheists who would be labeled "homophobes" because of their personal aversion to anything gay. These atheists do not have a "pathological fear of homosexuals", which is the definition of "homophobia".
Gay supporters who post to this message board label me a "homophobe" which is both laughable and ludicrous. I don't fear the gay community. I have to many gay friends and relatives to fear what I understand.
I am labeled a "homophobe" only because I oppose legalizing gay unions for religious and other reasons. The other reasons are more pertinent to our society than my religious beliefs because religion is a personal choice.
I support equal rights for all regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, but I oppose special rights for any segment of the population and that includes redefining marriage.
