Taking my team out for a outreach, we so happened to meet a very radical and intellectual Muslim.
As ussual he stated that Christians are blasphemers as they claim Jesus to be God, and thus ascribe human limitations to the divine being.
At the same time (and this is were I caught him), he described Allah as a God with feeds, and even more with these exact words: ears to hear and eyes to see. I asked him if God really need eyes to see and ears to hear, which he forcefully claimed was totally logical.
In other words we Christians are blamed for blasphemy as we ascribe divinity to God manifested in flesh. While the Muslim (at least this one) claimed that finate elements are necessary for the infinite Being to exist and function.
I caught him in this as he was claiming Arabic to be the language of God, and the official language of heaven. To which I asked him if God being God really needs to speak a language, what I mean is, is language not a element confined to the finite realm.
Secondly, according to the Greek and Aramaic, it seemed as if he considered God to be limited to the Aramaic language in matters related to Christianity.
I could not believe my ears, is God depended upon human like limbs, such as legs, a mouth to articulate himself in Arabic, eyes to observe his creation and ears to hear.
Is God reality limited by languages, in other words is God unable to articulate his gospel in Greek?
What I mean is, as Christian we describe humanlike limits to the word of God, revealed in flesh, according to this Muslim brother, Allah is depended upon humanlike body, and of course if needing a mouth to speak, and ears to hear and eyes to sea, then we cannot outrule the fact that those finite elemenst are depended again upon a range of other finite elements.
I would like to hear what other Muslims say about this matter, as I make no assertions, I merely post hear what I heard.
However, let me make it clear, I have no problem with God manifesting himself in flesh, however, I WOULD NEVER BELIEVE IN A GOD WHO NEEDS LEGS TO WALK, EARS TO HEAR, EYES TO SEE, A MOUTH TO SPEAK AND ARABIC TO COMMUNICATE.
As we continued and arrived to the issue concering the coming of the Spirit in John 14, and he seemed to (want) to argue that Muhammad is the comforter, it struck me again.
As a Christian I am accused of blasphemy, in believing that God at one time manifested himself in flesh. However, within these 30 minutes I listened to a Muslim who aggresively argued that the infinite divine being is depended on human limbs, and secondly that his own prophet was and is eternal, omnipresent and thus basically divine.
Be blessed
