Rejoicing and Praising Jesus Christ Forum!Really, what would Jesus do?HOGCALLER, I agree with you to an exent, but I feel that you are being dogmatic on this issue (I could be wrong). Like I said before, I believe it is two-fold. If a Christian decides to stay away from politics and is fully convinced in his/her conscience on the matter, then I do not see anything wrong. On the other hand, if a person (such as Truth Seeker-Joshua) is convinced that they should involve themselves in politics (to the glory of God), then I do not see anything wrong with that. Christians can have different callings. Paul was commanded by Christ to do the work of an apostle. So since Paul stayed away from the politics of Rome, it does not mean that every Christian should stay away from the politics of their country. Politics can also be a way to spread the gospel (note: Politics itself is not evil, but those who are involved in it can be evil). With all the commandments of God being absolutes, there are some things in life which God leaves as relative. Being involved in politics, I believe, is one of them. |
