Peace queenanni:
Also, in regards to your last post:
The promise of God is life. God makes no threats nor does he put fear in the heart of man. The fear that man feels is the discord of the flesh and the spirit. The flesh feels fear but the soul is quickened by faith, by which the Spirit is given and fear is then relieved.
The threat of a fiery death in eternal anguish does not come from a merciful and kind Father, and Jesus says the Father is merciful. How many lost sheep are turned away from the fold by the man who declares fire and brimstone for everyone who's not doing as he is? Grandma always said you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and in this case it's the honey that is the truth of the Son of Man and the vinegar that is the falseness, borne of man's poison.
You can preach the Gospel as being sweet as honey but to say that "
fiery death in eternal anguish does not come from a merciful and kind Father" is quite unbiblical.
Also, Matthew 10:28, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (KJV)
Those that are in Christ fear not, but to those that are
not in Christ have already condemned themselves. Until they come to Christ, they are not written in the book of life:
Revelation 20:11-15
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV)
God's mercy is revealed in Christ. Rejecting it brings judgement against them.
