Hi All,
I just went through two pages of painstaking work done by two very dedicated people.
First on War. The war was for Oil and security of Israel. There was no third reason. So let us tackle the first factor Oil.
It is very right that others have oil, but let us concentrate on where is oil first and how to get it out. If you know geology and how these fossil fuels are made. The richest of all the oil fields would be where continents joined other continents consuming the seas examples of these would be the Himalayas because there was sea where Himalayas and Karakoram ranges are, Gulf which was earlier a part of Africa and it seperated from Afirca and got attached to Asia, another important thing is time, these two landmases got attached less than 30 Million years ago, when there was huge quantities of life form to be preserved buried under the sea and land to become oil and gas. Other places which is generally found is the places where land masses split like Like North Sea, Venezuela and West coast of Africa, but these places do not have such high quantities. Even though it highly likely that Himalayas have huge reserves of oil, infact in Assam in India which would be where himalayas end, oil is being drilled since the begining of last century. However, Assam is a place where Himalayas end, there are not many mountains there, but for the rest of Himalays it is impossible to drill and get oil out from there, because you have to drill through hard stone for miles and miles before you reach sea level, and then you have to go even deeper to get oil. It is going to be extremely expensive and not at all economically viable for India or Nepal to extract oil from Himalayas. Canada and Alaska also have huge oil reserves but the terrain there makes it impossible to drill economically. So even the existense of oil does not make it economically viable to get oil out. This problem is not with Iraq, soft sand everywhere, with a little effort, drilling can be completed and oil sucked out. Hence drilling oil from Iraq is economically viable because it is easy to drill. Another thing is, refining the crude oil. You have to refine the oil to use it. Now the oil from Texas and others is very polluted and needs a lot of refining which is expensive, time consuming andthe yield is not very great too. The oil in Iraq is different, it has a very high yield so you dont have to refine it for a long time too. This is the second economic reason to target Iraq.
Now, the second thing is security of Israel. Iraq has sent forces to fight against Israel in all Arab-Israel wars, even though it does not share border with Israle. And it is the only country in Middle East which has capacity to develop enough expertise to take on Israel. Since the time Iraq said "No" to American pressure on its policy towards Israel and Nuclear Armament. Americans have been under extreme pressure from Zionist lobby in US to take on Iraq. This is a very well known fact.
Enough material is available on net, history and geology books to confirm of what I have said. I am not here to convince you, I can only proove that 2+2=4. And I knw that I would never be able to convince you that 2+2=4 if you want to believe that 2+2=5.
Bye for now... Ali
