ArchivedThis might not be sensitive.Gerani, I wanted to respond to this section of your post separately. First, you just 'googled' that site. Here, you might be interested in http://www.wandea.org.pl/PDF/HINDU.PDF -- THE DESACRALIZATION OF HINDUISM FOR WESTERN CONSUMPTION http://www.leaderu.com/wri/pages/maharaj.html -- from Death of a Guru, a book I highly recommend. http://www.biblequery.org/hinduism.htm -- you might be surprised at what some of the Hindu Scriptures state, as well as how they have disagreed with each other through the ages. There are quite a few quotes on this page as well as a rather thorough explanation of historic Hinduism. Shiva, by the way, is just the destroyer -- not of evil, but of just about everything else. Karma is supposed to lead to 'balance', but it must do that by perpetuating pain, evil, and suffering. Thus, somehow in this belief of yours, you must reconcile that fact with the desire to stop suffering. That would, after all, destroy the 'balance'.... You have not only fallen for a deception in Hinduism, but an extremely illogical one. But then, if all is maya, illusion, why worry? On the other hand, if all is maya, why is one of the four original goals in Hinduism material wealth??? By the way, which caste were you born into? |
