ArchivedMoses didnt write the Last Chapter of Deuteronomy! How do you know Joshua did not include it? Or how do you know that it wasn't a part of the next book? You have to remember that the Jews did not have chapters and verses in those days. You do say one thing well, which is, "the Jewish Tanach, on Jewish Websites." I don't think even they have as much manuscript evidence to support them as the clear scriptures of the Holy Bible do. A book defines its finish when it ends. So I do not get where you are going at here. All the manuscript evidence do not agree 100% because they all come from different eras and countries. But when they are put together they agree over 95% all preaching the same message. The Qu'ran, or any other religious/historical book, does not have as much tangible evidence to support it as the Holy Bible. Easily: http://www.tektonics.org/tekton_05_01_01.html There is no proof that Isaiah was written by three Rabi's. The more and more you mention the Encyclopedia Judaica, the more and more I am starting to think it is unreliable. There is no evidence whatsoever to support that claim. I've also read claims that Isaiah was written by two people. Which is it, two or three? Stick to the evidence of canoniztion (link previously given). Another good explanation: http://www.probe.org/docs/e-isaiah.html In your Qu'ran, Allah refers to Himself in the plural form and you say it is because of His sovereignity. We Christians can use the same argument to the plurals used in the Old Testament AND we can also use it to back up the Trinity. As for Adonai being the name of a false god, I cannot find evidence of that anywhere. What you should have said was, since the true name of God cannot be uttered, a word, or words were substituted so we can represent the meaning of God's sacred name. In fact 'm not so sure "God" is His real name. But since He is the supreme being, He knows what we mean. Yep, and the Holy Bible continues to be Divine rather than human in origin. Psalms 22 is a valid explanation actually. It is clearly a Messianic scripture. And since the New Testament was originally in Greek and not in the original Hebrew, it is futile to bring up the original Hebrew for that verse in the New Testament. Jesus did things as an example of how we as human beings should do things. Phillippians 2:5-8 says: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. The Holy Ghost is God, usually known as the third person of the Trinity. Nowhere does the Bible say that Mary or Gabriel is the Holy Ghost. In fact, many Muslims seem to falsely believe the Holy Ghost is the angel Gabriel. As to the Emmanuel prophecy, that was fulfilled in Matthew 1:23, for Christ is "God with us." Also, the Elijah prophecy in Malachi was fulfilled (Check out: Matthew 11:13,14). Certain things of God are spiritually discerned. If it took over a thousand years for the prophecy in Isaiah on the Christ's coming to be fulfilled, it might take a while for Christ to return. But He has left us with signs of His coming (Matthew 24 for example). Personally, I don't eat pork. And I'm sure God made certain things unclean because He knows it is not good for us. But eating pork has nothing to do with salvation. Jesus Himself says, "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." (Matthew 15:11). I'm not a Jew, Muslim, Arab-Christian, or a Seventh day adventist (although I do adhere to Saturday Sabbath keeping), andI don't eat pork. What is your point? Let the Lord judge those who eat pork, not you or I.
Churches keep communion in remembrance of Christ (He commanded us to). Although the wine used in communion does not have alcohol. It is grape juice. This is wine in its purest form. I think its pretty clear that these people won't be saved (one has to repent and be Born Again): Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites.... (1 Corinthians 6:9). Again, God will be the judge. Looks like somebody is being judgmental. If someone claims to be a Christian and performs an act contrary to what Christianity teaches, that does not disprove Christianity, it hurts the person performing the acts. While some professing to be Christians go against the teachings of Christ, those claiming to be Muslims are following what Islam teaches by performing acts of terrorism. Christianity is monotheist also. The Bible does not say the word "Trinity", but it teaches the concept. So just like Muslims, Christians believe in one God. It's just that we don't believe in the same God. An example of three things that are one in nature is: The Universe(time, space, and matter). From that example, how can you interpret that I said there are three Universes? You can't! By the way, I'm not saying that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is like the Universe with time, space and matter. I just gave that example to show that it is logical to say three in one. I'm sure the relationship within the Godhead is more complicated, but only God knows. God prophesies (Old Testament), He does not edit (Qu'ran). Take a look at the Old Testament prophesies on the Messiah: http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/prophchr.html |
