Has the U.N. accomplished some good? Yes, but not because of the U.N. What good it has accomplished is because of men and women who have dedicated their lives to helping others, like the World Health Organization.
It is always thanks to men and women that anything accomplishes anything. I don't see your point here.

When men get involved in trials due to their own evil desires and learn that those desires are not worth the trouble what follows can be good or more evil. When terrorists attacked NYC it was an evil act, but when the U.S. goes after the terrorists and those countries that promote evil (Saddam gassed his own people, lived in luxury while his people lived in squallor) we are considered evil.
And the US never did any horrible things to its population...
There are so many bastarddictators who are doing bad things to their population. What a coincidence that the USA does nothing about that when there is no oil in that countries ground.

Viet Nam was a war that caused a lot of American money, lives, and dissention in the U.S. But who caused the original problem; France and the U.N. We tried to help an ally in Viet Nam but when we asked for aid after being attacked what did the U.N. do? Refused to enforce its own resolutions. If you consider that good then just what do you consider evil?
The US already gets the Saudi oil and loads of their money. Of course you don't attack them, that is useless. You get less then 7% oil of Iraq. 7% of an awfull lot of oil is still an awfull lot of oil. Which is a very good thing to have since it will run out in the not too far future.
The Vietnam war had ofcourse nothing to do with the Sovjets either... nor did (does) the war in Korea of course.
Don't fool yourself Aineo, oil did play its part in the Iraq war.
