Interesting discussion.
kesuramoni, that is an interesting point in your first post, and I have never thought of it that way.
gerani, is enlightenment what man really needs? And even if you think that is all that a man needs, how is one to know one is on a right path? By what standard can you judge right and wrong? You later said we are not creatures in distress. I don't know what human beings you are looking at, but when I look around me, in my town, my country, this world, what I see mostly is distress! We are desperately in need of help. If mankind could have helped themselves, they would have done so by now. Instead we have increased in knowledge and then used that knowledge primarily for destruction, both of other people and the world around us. Violence is purveyed as an entertainment. Karma is a deadly deceit, for in order for you to 'pay back' or be 'paid back' any evil from any past, evil must not only continue but increase.
I would also point to those countries which are primarily Buddhist or Hindu and mention in passing that they are among the poorest and most miserable in the world. I don't think those two religions have much historically or personally to recommend them, actually. A tree is known by its fruits, and the fruits of those two faiths are bitter and rotten.
Logically, as well, if all is divine, then 'divine' has no meaning. If a divine being is in everything, then it can be chopped down, exploded, slaughtered and eaten, dried up, etc. etc. That makes no sense at all. God is the Creator, and the Creator is not the same as the creation, nor is He required to exist within it. In fact, logically, He can only exist outside it, for it is from Him, not of Him.
Now, you also said that when we attain salvation, we become blank. What on earth (or anyplace else for that matter) are we then being saved from? Our personalities are a waste, our learning is a waste, our love itself is a waste. This, also, makes no sense whatsoever.
In short, what I see you as believing in and espousing is not only illogical, but cruel in the extreme.
Contrary to what you are believing and talking about, it seems we need God quite directly and immediately. There is no indication anywhere that anyone is capable of saving himself, and even if that were possible, what is he saving himself from? Himself?
You see, that is exactly what we need saving from -- ourselves. We need to be changed on the inside. New bodies will never help, for it is the heart of man which is deceitful, lustful, prideful, and always tending toward evil in its selfishness. This is what needs to be changed, and we cannot change our own hearts. We require outside help.
That's what God did in Christ Jesus. We have that help available to us.
C.S. Lewis made the interesting point in, I think, Screwtape Letters, that the best lie is 95% truth. And that is why there is no gray in a number of areas. If something is not 100% truth, it is a lie. There are things which are black and white. Truth is truth, good is good. The problem is we need a plumb line by which to judge. Thus the Bible.
Just some thoughts....
