God has suspended the laws of physics and people did notice. But you would have to read the Bible to find the record of those events.
Have you noticed how people ignore history when building homes and businesses in areas where hurricanes are common occurrences? Or how people build homes in areas where forest fires are common and then don't use common sense in removing combustible materials around the home because they want trees, not grass surrounding the house, and some even build homes that cannot survive a fire? Concrete, stucco, and other building materials are less likely to be destroyed, but people insist on building log homes or homes that contain more combustible materials than fire resistance materials. How about all the homes in San Francisco that were built on fill and not bedrock in an earthquake zone?
As to lightening, again the suspension of common sense seems to be the usual reason why people are struck with lightening. Although storms can move quickly being aware of your surroundings during bad weather seems to be the primary cause. You don't want to be in an open field or on high ground during a thunder storm and you definitely don't want to have a golf club over your shoulder.
Don’t blame God for humanity’s lack of common sense.
