Christian/Muslim ThreadsHow do Muslims view the war in Iraq?Peace Believer, Open your eyes Believer. Look around you and see what your country has become. Immorality is in every direction that one turns. Homosexuality, prostitution, adultery… Name it. It’s there. And what makes it worse is that nothing is been done to combat it. The singers of today are a disgrace. Singers like Beyonce are sending out the wrong message to Christian youths. Surely, her actions are not permitted under Christianity. Then who does? So where are the ethical laws for pornography for example? For example homosexuality. They are not physically harming others, yet their evil practices affect the society. Look at America of today, and it’s ever increasing homosexuality population. Are these the same republicans who participate in war after war? You specifically said that they fought off the Muslims for 1000 years. Did they Believer? And this is why I ask for sources, because I know you will make a slip somewhere. We conquered yes. But we didn’t take their culture or their religion. Their pagan faith died on it’s own like it did in Arabia. When the truth came to these people, they accepted it willingly. We will not apologise for that. The Christian youth that were conscripted were not forced to convert. (Encyclopedia, http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Janissaries ) Does Islam agree with the conscription? Absolutely not! And I repeat, we’ve had our share of leaders who did not rule strictly on Islamic law. However, even with our faults, it cannot compare with the atrocities that were committed by the Crusaders and the Christian colonizers. One, Christians are the number one prosecutors of Jews. Two, history testifies to the horrifying treatment that they received under Christian rulers. I don’t think you are aware of the contribution that the Moors made to Spain. It was the Muslim Moors that brought Europe out of the dark ages. And that is no exaggeration. Concerning the source you gave me on the so-called pact of Umar Bin Al-Khattab, it is not authentic as it goes against the Shariah law and Umar being one of the companions of the Prophet would be aware of it. Also, I looked for this pact and the only places where I could find it was on non-Muslim websites, and a Shia website (reading into this particular website, it is clear what their view of Umar is. They see him as an apostate). Furthermore, the poll tax that is paid by Christians and Jews in an Islamic state goes to the building of Churches and Synagogues, among other things. So you must understand why I do not believe this pact. So tell me, was it the will of God that ¼ of the world’s population is Muslim and is rising? God must favour the Muslims. He also must have favoured the Islamic Empire as well. It’s ridiculous to say that “well God favoured us”. It’s like saying “that an Atheist has everything in life, so God must favour him”. If something is the will of God doesn’t necessarily mean He favours one group of people. The problem is that you do not understand what a Muslim means by “the will of God”. And if it was? I’m not referring to the period, but the crimes that were committed by those earlier Christians. Another pointer to the atrocities committed by earlier Christianity. That is called an ultimatum. There’s a difference. Either accepts Islam and rule by Islamic law, or step aside. No forced conversions whatsoever. I don’t think you understand the difference. How can you possibly say that they never sought answers? Where you present with every one of these former Christians? I mean really… I don’t believe that we were discussing whether Muslims understand Christianity or not. Because Christian missionaries in order to recruit converts stoop to defame the religion. Where all fine with religious discussions. They’re great. In this environment, Christians can be heard. The state is not silencing Christians from speaking about their faiths. We just ban missionary work that’s all. Do you not see my point though? Even though, according to Christianity I have the choice, I’ll still be going to hell because I made the choice to reject the divinity of Jesus. In reality, you will be punished for making the wrong choice. Yet free will exists. But it is exists to make the right choice. Otherwise suffer the consequences. I’m I not right? And this how the Apostasy works. Make the wrong choice and be punished. As God will punish those who rejected Him in the hereafter, we too punish those who where originally on the right path, and after being counseled choose to reject the true religion. It’s a simple equation. Wrong choice=punishment. Both in this lifetime and the one to come. Meaning that the Old Testament means nothing (tad exaggeration there on my part). You keep referring to your holy book as “ancient” which is very disrespectful and I’m not even a Christian. Is the Bible meant to be for all times or is it just an “ancient” book? Everything that the Prophet taught us on how to live has relevance to today. The teachings of Islam are never outdated or “ancient” as you seem to believe of the Bible. If so, what about some of the comments that Paul has made in regards to women. Are they advice to women on how to be good Christians? So your stance is if Jesus didn’t say it I’m not going to accept it? Where are true Christian families? They are few in number. You’re average Christian family might go to the church on Sunday, celebrate the Christian holidays and that’s about it. You don’t consider the 6 million gap difference to be huge enough? Not to forget the gay population. Also, a man doesn’t have to marry 4 wives. It’s not an obligation on his part. Moreover, you’re theory that many women want to single is BS. I’m sorry, but it just is. I presume Christianity didn’t know that this imbalance was going to occur and that is why it has no solution. Well my Prophet prophecised it. Yep, a true Prophet indeed. How your marriage should be. Well we don’t agree. Yes it’s a union, but certainly not a holy covenant. If it’s a covenant, how can one break a covenant? What about divorce? So Solomon and the other Prophets are going to hell are they? They practiced polygamy. How so? She is a wife. And receives her right as a wife. A whore is only for sexual pleasures. A Muslim woman in such a marriage is far more than that. She is a wife and a mother. I don’t appreciate you calling these Muslim women whores. I suggest you watch your language Believer. Absolutely not! In the eyes of God, all Muslims are equal, whether they be female or male. Polygamy itself serves a great purpose. Even in Australia, there Muslim women (who have children) who accept marriage proposals by married men. It’s a choice they make willingly. It has nothing to do with the souls and equating of souls. I agree that tyranny needs to be rid off. Stop repeating yourself. I understand your argument. But you must agree also that it opens the door for anything that is against God. Any immorality can be legalized under a democracy. This is where the objection lies. And this is what is dangerous about this system. When the Islamic state does return, and it will, then that will be the true and pure form of an Islamic state. There is no Islamic state available today. The former crumbled because of Muslims abandoning the teachings of the religion that the prefaced to had adhered to. Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
