Archived2 Thessalonians 2:3 - apostasia ~ falling awaySo, what then? Majority rules? I would venture to say that Jesus' views were hardly agreed upon by the majority of people, yet you would never argue that He was wrong because of that. This seems to be a fall-back statement for you, Aineo, i.e "If all else fails, tell them they're not in the majority." But this can get you into alot of trouble if you apply it to other teachings of the Bible. Most people tend to define Christendom as "Christians as a group or whole" and most people (although not us) consider catholics, mormons, JWs and the like to be Christians. Taking that into consideration, the majority viewpoint of Christendom on salvation is that you can work your way into heaven. But this majority view is far from correct, right? So if agreement by Christendom is your requirement, then you might be right on OSAS and pre-trib, but you're wrong on a bunch of others. |
