Creation of JCF Statement of FaithQuestions for you to answerI can see where you would come up with that thought, but that's the wrong way of looking at it. Christ's sacrifice is sufficient for all, hence all the statements in the Bible that He was sent to redeem the world. But His sacrifice is efficient only for the elect. You said above "Jesus' sacrifice applies only to the elect." If I can reword it a little to more accurately reflect what I believe - Jesus' sacrifice is applied only to the elect. That does not imply, though, that His sacrifice was not for the whole world. Just because some cannot and will not ever accept Him, does not mean He didn't die for them also. This debate is going on in other threads, so I will not comment on it here, except to say that I am still putting together a response to your last post in the "eternal security" thread. My apologies for the delay there, but I have been quite busy. Ya' know, I've seen you say this a few times. But every time you've said it, it's been stated as a matter of universal fact, not up for debate. Do you have any stats to back this statement up? I'm not saying I either don't believe or do believe you that OSAS is not believed by a majority, but I'd be interested to see what stats you have to quantify this claim. |
