Rejoicing and Praising Jesus Christ Forum!Measuring Christ`s authenticityIf there is a perfect denomination...I better not join it...I'll ruin it!! Unconvinced, I'm glad you did not take offense! I would like to try to comment on what you said about having to learn Hebrew to understand it. You know, I want to study the original documents word for word so I have been doing research on exactly how God's document was born. I have discovered things about the translations: The Latin Vulgate: This was one of the first books to be translated in latin so that the people could read it in their own tongue. (I believe word for word, but this I cannot prove; seeing I have not done my own translation yet). The King James Version: Versions later King James wanted a bible printed in English so his country could understand it. And on July 22, 1604, 54 men translated the bible to english from the years before. They split in 6 teams and when everyone agreed on every single word they gave it to the public to read. So, if you want to read the Holy Word and you want the closest translation to the original...King James Version is the Bible for you. The other versions (that are in english) are to help those that don't understand the messages. I have just about all the versions (all of them that the stores carry) and I read them usually at the same time. When I sit down to read I have several books opened to see who says what. They all carry the same meaning (so far). Check it out...you'll be happy you did! |
