Whoa! Information overload! No way can my tired and mushy brains handle this right now.
I'll work on a long, juicy post over the weekend. TGIF (or is it TAIF?)
I have been realizing lately, though, that every time I come to these sites, it fills me with a lot of negative feelings. I love to debate, and religion is one of my strongest interests. But I always can't help but feel we should be looking for inroads and common interests, so that we can all strive to work together.
Let's face it, despite all our bravado, the future will never be all Christian or all Muslim. We will exist together until the Day of Judgement. I'll bet that on that day, it won't matter so much what compartmentalized creed you subscribed to in life, but rather, the manner in which you lived, and the faith you held in God Almighty.
I know that Islam believes that a righteous person of the book can be saved (provided of course, that he or she doesn't fight against Islam). Catholicism acknowledges that non-Chrisitians who knowingly or unknowingly live in the ways that Christ taught us (compassion, mercy, forgiveness, faith), then such people too will be saved.
Perhaps I'm in a sentimental mood tonight. Oh well. I'll be back in a couple of days to refute everything I see. There's mercy, and then there's fighting against false prophets.
Cheers,
Publius
