This is an unrefuted post about sura 61 from understanding-islam ( I am sure you know all about them)
Dear brothers
one of my Friend Mr.H H has sent me an e-mail in which he has expressed his understanding and views on Surah no.61 (as-Saff)The Ranks of the Qur'an. Before replying to his e-mail , i thought that i should post his e-mail on this discussion forum so that all the members including the administrators of this site could discuss his understanding on this perticular Surah of the Qur'an.
following was his messege:
The Ranks
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
[61.1] Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
[61.2] O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not do?
(This passage is directed to “YOU WHO BELIEVE” [61.2]
It is recorded in the Qur'an so it must be counsel for Muslims.
But these “believers” have said one thing "O you who believe!" [61.2]
and done another "why do you say that which you do not do?" [61.2])
[61.3] It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do.
(It is recorded in the Qur'an for Muslims to read that
ALLAH hates one that is a hypocrite - one that claims to love Allah, but that does not obey Him [61.3].
Why is this recorded in the Qur'an for Muslims to read, if it is not for and about Muslims?)
[61.4] Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way in ranks as if they were a firm and compact wall.
[61.5] And when Musa said to his people: O my people! why do you give me trouble? And you know indeed that I am Allah's apostle to you;
but when they turned aside, Allah made their hearts turn aside, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.
(In the Ranks, Musa chides his people for being hypocritical people like the Muslims that were told
"you who believe! why do you say that which you do not do?" [61.2]
”Allah does not guide a transgressing people” [61.5] - a people that believe, but do not obey [61.2]
[even if Allah once guided them in their past as He guided Musa's people]
The warning to the Muslims is that Allah makes the hearts of a transgressing people turn aside [61.5].)
[61.6] And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic.
(After the Muslims were chided, "O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not do?" [61.2]
The Muslims were reminded of Musa's dealings with the Children of Israel that also turned away [61.5].
Then Isa [Jesus {PBUH}] begins to speak, which is in the Qur'an, so it is a message to and for Muslims to heed.
Jesus [PBUH] states: "O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you"
Does this mean that Jesus [PBUH] is identifying himself as an apostle ONLY to the Children of Israel?
No! Because as Jesus [PBUH] continues to speak, He addresses the Muslims as they were identified when the Ranks began in 61.2 and as he addresses them in 61.10:
"O you who believe! shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement?" [61.10]
Jesus [PBUH] is speaking to Muslims in the Qur'an,
and He informs the Muslims that He is speaking to "you who believe"
and He is ALSO an apostle of Allah to the children of Israel.
Thus Jesus [PBUH] is speaking to all Muslims who believe [61.10]
and warning them of the fate of the children of Israel that once believed and that Musa said turned aside [61.5].
Muslims that claim to believe and "do not do" [61.2] will are hated by Allah [61.3] and they are warned of Allah’s dealings with the others for an example! [61.5])
(Did you follow the context of that passage? The ranks begins by addressing Muslims "O you who believe!"[61.2]
Muslims that "say that which you do not do." [61.2] And Musa's words warn the Muslims of fate of the children of Israel that were also turned aside [61.5].
Then Jesus [PBUH] identifies Himself to the Muslims to which the Ranks were written that "say that which you do not do."[61.2] Jesus [PBUH] identifies himself as the one that was sent to the Children of Israel [61.6]: those very people that Musa identified as becoming hypocrites when as a nation they stopped believing [61.5]! Jesus [PBUH] later identifies a group of the children of Israel that continue to believe and a party that disbelieves: "O you who believe! be helpers (in the cause) of Allah, as~ Isa son of Marium said to (his) disciples: Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We are helpers (in the cause) of Allah. So a party of the children of Israel believed and another party disbelieved" [61.14]. The disciples that became Christians are from a party of the children of Israel that believed, and Jesus [PBUH] commends them as Christians for being in the group of BELIEVERS. The other party that disbelieves is not identified as being from the Children of Israel. It is only identified as a party that disbelieves.)
(Isa [Jesus {PBUH}] is speaking; he is giving the "good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad...." [61.6] Ahmad is identified by Muslims as being Mohammad.)
(Isa [Jesus {PBUH}] is speaking, "but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic." Is Jesus [PBUH] speaking about himself or is He speaking about Mohammad when Jesus [PBUH] states "he came to them with clear arguments" [61.6] In the Qur'an a very similar phrase appears another time that clearly refers to Jesus [PBUH] as the one that comes with clear arguments: "And when Jesus [PBUH] came with clear arguments he [Jesus {PBUH}] said: I [Jesus {PBUH}] have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I [Jesus {PBUH}] may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me (Jesus {PBUH})" [43.63]. Thus Jesus [PBUH] is speaking to those that will “believe” as he spoke to those of Israel who should have remained faithful like the disciples did that became the helpers of Allah when they became Christians. Is Jesus [PBUH] saying the truth about Mohammad with clear arguments that some will assert "this is clear magic?")
(Traditionally Muslims read this passage as though it refers immediately back to Mohammad as the one that comes with clear arguments because they do not apply a relationship to 43.63 where these words are applied to Jesus: ["and when Jesus [PBUH] came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of Allah and obey me Jesus {PBUH}."] But IF Mohammad is the one that speaks with the clear arguments in 61.6 as Muslims understand the passage, to whom did Mohammad present these clear arguments?)
(When Jesus [PBUH] is speaking in 61.6, He begins by speaking to the "children of Israel." And if Jesus [PBUH] is saying, "but when Mohammad came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic" was Mohammad sent to speak to the children of Israel? In 61.7, it is clear that Allah “invited” Mohammad to Islam. Is Islam identified as the "children of Israel?" [There is no mention that Mohammad is to come after Jesus {PBUH} in the writings of any of the disciples that Jesus [PBUH] commends in 61.14 for being the helpers of Allah.] When Jesus [PBUH] identified himself as an Apostle of Allah in 61 .6, Jesus [PBUH] was speaking on behalf of Allah. Thus if Jesus [PBUH] identified Mohammad as the apostle to come after Jesus [PBUH] as it is in the writings of Mohammad, it is important to know to whom Mohammad spoke. If while talking to the Children of Israel, Jesus [PBUH] identified Mohammad as the apostle that will follow Jesus [PBUH], and Mohammad did not speak to the Children of Israel, then from the context Mohammad must have spoken to someone else. Did Mohammad speak to Allah and His apostle Jesus? Is the Qur'an saying "but when Mohammad came to Allah and His Apostle Jesus [PBUH] with clear arguments Allah and Jesus [PBUH] said: This is clear magic”?)
(Since Jesus [PBUH] said: "he came to them with clear arguments," it is important to identify to whom this refers; was Mohammad the one with the clear arguments and to know to whom Mohammad was speaking these "clear arguments?" Were these "clear arguments" being rejected by the Muslims - they do not reject them today) or were these "clear arguments" being rejected by Allah and His Apostle Jesus [PBUH]! And if the phrase "he came to them with clear arguments," refers back to Jesus [PBUH], the speaker of the statement, regarding the truth that is being revealed about Mohammad that also is very important to know.)
(Immediately after Jesus [PBUH] states: "surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic" Jesus [PBUH] reveals the truth about Mohammad: )
[61.7] And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah and he is invited to Islam, and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
(Isa [Jesus {PBUH}] is still speaking "the good news of an Apostle who will come after me [Jesus {PBUH}], his name being Ahmad [Mohammad]." Then Jesus [PBUH] states the truth about the apostle Ahmad: "[Mohammad] who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah." After Jesus [PBUH] identifies Mohamed as the man that Jesus [PBUH] is speaking about, Jesus [PBUH] does not identify anyone else between the two statements. Thus from the context, it is clear that Jesus [PBUH] is still speaking when He speaks of Mohammad, "who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah and [Mohammad] is invited to Islam." It is TRUE that Mohamed was invited to Islam! "And Allah does not guide the unjust people." What people was Mohammad invited to? ISLAM! "And Allah does not guide [Islam] the unjust people."[61.7])
(IT IS TRUE: Immediately after Mohammad is identified as the apostle that comes after Jesus [PBUH] [61.6], it is written IN THE QUR’AN that Mohammad is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah [61.7]. And it is Mohammad who is invited to ISLAM [61.7]! Immediately after Jesus [PBUH] identifies the people to which Mohammad is invited, Jesus [PBUH] states that "Allah does not guide an unjust people [61.7]." The context flows from the truth that Jesus [PBUH] is speaking about Mohammad [61.6] to ISLAM [61.7] and when ISLAM is identified, it is characterized as the unjust people that Allah does not guide [61.7]. And this is like magic [61.6] that Allah could place such truth within the writings of Mohamed! And this agrees with the very opening passage in the Ranks that is understood to be addressed to Muslims to which the Ranks as a part of the Qur’an were written: " O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not do?" [61.2])
(After Jesus [PBUH] identifies Mohammad as the apostle [61.6] who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah [61.7]; Mohammad is the one that is invited to ISLAM by Allah [61.7]; and ISLAM is identified as the unjust people that Allah does not guide [61.7]; But when Muslims read this, they identify Mohammad as the one who speaks "with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic" [61.6]. Is Mohammad speaking his clear arguments to the Children of Israel? NO! The Qur’an states that Mohammad was sent to Islam [61.7]. Since Allah invited Mohammad to Islam, does Islam say of Mohammad’s message: “This is clear magic?” NO! Since Mohammad was not sent to speak to the Children of Israel and the Muslims do not say of his message, “This is clear magic," for Mohammad to be the one that “came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic,” Mohammad must be speaking to Allah and His Apostle, Jesus [PBUH]. If Mohammad is speaking to Allah and His Apostle Jesus [PBUH] this is how the Qur’an would be read: "BUT WHEN MOHAMMAD CAME TO ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE JESUS WITH CLEAR ARGUMENTS, ALLAH AND JESUS SAID, THIS IS CLEAR MAGIC.") Allah and Jesus [PBUH] do not accept the "clear arguments" of Mohammad. For Mohammad to be speaking, Allah and Jesus [PBUH] state that Mohammad is clearly using magic to present his arguments.)
(From the context: Jesus {PBUH} is speaking about Muslims that are like the children of Israel that were once a faithful people, but like the Children of Israel that turned away, the Muslims say one thing and to do another [61.2]. As Jesus [PBUH] speaks of Mohammad, Jesus tells the good news about Mohammad! Is it good news to know the TRUTH that Mohammad is worse than an unjust man, and that Mohammad WAS INVITED TO ISLAM? It is good news FOR THE PEOPLE TO KNOW that a man that deceives others with lies is identified! Those that know that MOHAMMAD is a liar are not deceived by his lies -THAT IS GOOD! Those that do not know that MOHAMMAD is telling them lies need to know the truth so that they will not be deceived by MOHAMMAD! Then while Jesus [PBUH] is speaking of Islam [the unjust people to whom Mohammad was invited], Jesus [PBUH] states THAT THEY ARE NOT GUIDED BY ALLAH [61.7]! Why would anyone want to join a group or remain in a group that is not guided by Allah and that is considered as most hateful to Allah? You Muslims that believe, YOU are warned in the Qur’an: "It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do" [61.3]. Jesus [PBUH] does not want those that truly believe in Allah to be deceived, so He tells them the truth. "O you who believe! shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement? [61.10])
[61.7] And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah and he is invited to Islam, and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
[61.8] They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths but Allah will perfect His light, though the unbelievers may be averse.
(As Jesus [PBUH] is still speaking, He identifies Mohammad as being more unjust than a man that forges a lie against Allah. Mohammad is invited to ISLAM. ISLAM is the unjust people that Allah does not guide and "They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths but Allah will perfect His light, though the unbelievers may be averse...." ISLAM is trying to put out the light of Allah!)
[61.9] He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them, though the polytheists may be averse.
(As Jesus [PBUH] is still speaking, it is Allah "Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion." The Ranks identifies three apostles that are sent by Allah. Musa said, "O my people! why do you give me trouble? And you know indeed that I am Allah's apostle to you" [61.5]. Jesus [PBUH] said: "O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you" [61.6]. And Jesus [PBUH] is identified as being sent to "you who believe!" [61.10]. And "you who believe!" are identified as the Christian disciples of Jesus [PBUH]" helpers (in the cause) of Allah" [61.14]. And Jesus [PBUH] identified: "an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad" [61.6]. Ahmad is Mohammad, the apostle sent to Islam, the unjust people [61.7], those who claim to believe, but do not do [61.1]. Thus when it speaks of Allah as, "He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them," this passage is speaking of one of the three apostles that are identified in the Ranks: Musa, Ahmad [Mohammad], or Jesus [PBUH] as Allah's "Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them....")
(From the context, Musa was sent to the Children of Israel. Mohammad, as one that is worse than an unjust man who forges a lie against Allah, was sent as a false apostle to Islam, an unjust people; thus Mohammad cannot be the "Apostle with the guidance and the true religion." Since Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel and to those who believe; Jesus is Allah's "Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them."
[61.10] O you who believe! shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement?
(As Jesus [PBUH] is still speaking, He has told the truth about Mohammad, and about ISLAM. Now Jesus [PBUH] is identified as Allah's "Apostle with the guidance and the true religion." It is as Allah's "Apostle with the guidance and the true religion," that Jesus [PBUH] speaks these words "O you who believe! shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement?" These words, recorded in the Qur'an, are for the Muslims that will believe HIM. Jesus [PBUH] asks if you will let HIM "lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement?" But if you will not believe HIM as the Apostle sent from Allah, HE cannot lead you.)
[61.11] You shall believe in Allah and His Apostle, and struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives; that is better for you, did you but know!
(As Allah's "Apostle with the guidance and the true religion," Jesus [PBUH] commands
"You shall believe in Allah and His Apostle" [61.11].
This is a variation of the same command that was recorded about Jesus [PBUH] in 43.63:"and when Jesus [PBUH] came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of Allah and obey me [Jesus] {PBUH}."
This Apostle that is to be obeyed is not Mohammad, it is none other than Jesus [PBUH]!
Jesus [PBUH] commands you to believe in Allah and to believe in Jesus [PBUH] [61.11]!
Jesus [PBUH] knows that you will "struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives" [61.11].
But Jesus [PBUH] CLEARLY STATES "that is better for you, did you but know!" [61.11].
What does Jesus [PBUH] want you to know that will be better for you?
What did Jesus reveal about Mohammad and about ISLAM?
"[Mohammad] who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah
and [Mohammad] is invited to Islam,
and Allah does not guide [Islam] an unjust people." [61.7]
Jesus [PBUH] wants you to know that it will be better for you to know the truth about Mohammad
that Mohammad is worse than an unjust man; that Mohammad was exiled to Islam a group of unjust people that Allah does not guide!)
[61.12] He will forgive you your faults and cause you to enter into gardens, beneath which rivers flow, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetuity; that is the mighty achievement;
(When you believe in Allah and His Apostle, Jesus [PBUH], "He will forgive you your faults...."
Will He forgive you your faults, if you do not believe in Allah and His Apostle, Jesus [PBUH]?)
[61.13] And yet another (blessing) that you love: help from Allah and a victory near at hand; and give good news to the believers.
(When you believe in Allah and His Apostle, Jesus [PBUH], you will get help from Allah and victory! When you believe in Allah and His Apostle, Jesus [PBUH], you will "give good news to the believers." What is the good news that Jesus [PBUH] revealed in61 .6-7? It was the truth about Mohammad who is worse that an unjust man that lies about Allah and it is the truth about the unjust people that Mohammad was invited to go to! BUT this is only "GOOD NEWS TO THE BELIEVERS!" [61.13] WHO ARE THE TRUE BELIEVERS?)
[61.14] O you who believe! be helpers (in the cause) of Allah, as~ Isa son of Marium said to (his) disciples: Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We are helpers (in the cause) of Allah. So a party of the children of Israel believed and another party disbelieved; then We aided those who believed against their enemy, and they became uppermost.
(As Jesus [PBUH] closes His appeal, He addresses the believers: "O you who believe!" Is he addressing those that were identified in 61.2?
"O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not do?" [61.2]. These are the Muslims that follow Mohammad in the ways of Islam.
NO! Jesus [PBUH] identifies those who TRULY believe as his disciples! "Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We are helpers (in the cause) of Allah." The Muslims are not included in this group of those that believe, just the Christian disciples. Jesus [PBUH] does not tell His disciples to go to Islam or to become Muslims! The disciples are identified as "a party of the children of Israel believed." Then it is written "and another party disbelieved;” but these are not identified as being from the Children of Israel. In the Ranks there are those in the Children of Israel that disbelieved see [see 61.5] and there are the Muslims that claim to believe and do not do [see 61.1]. Thus as Jesus [PBUH] is summing it up, he states that there are really only two classes of people:
1) the Christian disciples "a party of the children of Israel believed" and
2) everyone else whether claiming to be a child of Israel or a Muslim (Islamic) they are grouped in "another party disbelieved;")
(Why are the words of Jesus [PBUH] recorded in the Qur'an, a book for Muslims?
Jesus [PBUH] does not want Muslims to be deceived by Mohammad!
"O you who believe! shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement?" [61.10]
Allah has exiled Mohammad to ISLAM to keep Mohammad from polluting the work of Jesus [PBUH] among the Christians
Jesus [PBUH] appeals to you to hear his voice, as the Apostle of Allah, that you will become Christians like his disciples that he commends for their belief!
Actually, I have studied the Qur'an looking for truth. Then I prayerfully examined the text to be sure that i understood what it said. The text and my understanding are written for you to see. And it clearly states that Mohammad was sent to Islam as a man that is worse than a liar. Anyone that believes in the Qur'an and continues to follow Mohammad is in danger of chastisement for disregarding its most secret truth.
My goal is to give you that which is written in the Qur'an within the context of my understanding. If my understanding is in error from studying the Ranks, then show me the error. But if the Ranks clearly reveals that Mohammad is a false apostle sent by Allah to destroy those that choose to serve Mohammad more than Allah, then flee from Mohammad. Turn to Jesus the Apostle of Allah that is sent to those that believe in Allah that your may be spared from the chastisement of those that disbelieve.
I am a seeker of truth. I have studied the Qur'an and the Bible. John, the disciple of Jesus [PBUH] has written in his writings that the way to Islam will dry up in preparation for the Messiah to return. Daniel the prophet [PBUH] has identified the timeframe that the Messiah will return, and the merciful Lord God of creation and redemption has given understanding to His servant that seeks truth. Freely, I have received and freely, I have shared. It is up to you to decide if the Qur'an is speaking truth in the Ranks and then it is up to you how you will react to the truth as a believer in Allah or as one that disbelieves.

my comment:
This was his messege and i hope the administrators and members of this forum will definitely discuss this messege and let us know whether Mr.H H understanding of Surah 61 is accurate and according to the context in which this Surah was revealed?
