ArchivedDoes society define Christian standards?Right, but in a way they can dictate what we are "allowed" to do as Christians. Using the example I raised earlier of drinking wine, some time ago, wine wasn't considered bad by Christians, but now many won't drink it because of the association it has with drunkenness and the world. We are supposed to be separate, so many don't drink wine at all in order to fulfill this call of separation. Wine isn't necessarily bad, but its association with society has caused it to be viewed as bad and now Christians don't partake of it as much. Is it ok that society's association with this drink has made Christianity change its views on it? Or are we supposed to view wine the same as Christians down through the ages have viewed it? |
