Homosexual Discussion ForumHomosexuality and the Possibility of Change
Because of his activities in 1981 and the fact that he was lonely after having lost a partner who had cancer and died in 1981. OH, I believe I stated that wrong, it was in Jan 1987 that he found out he was HIV positive because we both took the test at the same time. The "1990" had to do with when I told my Mom's pastor back here in Tulsa about Ed being HIV postitive, more than six months before Ed was diagnosed with PML. Ed was not really in that good of health when I met him in April 1984 and his friends told me that he certainly looked healthier when he had lived with me for a while. Well, Ed was able to eat better because I actually made quite a bit more money than he did, so we spent more on food when it was my week buy groceries; I also did most of the cooking to help him eat healthier. It was his decision that I be the cook of the family. Life for him became stressful in early 1990, since he worked for low wages, and he did not have dental insurance, he went to a credit dentist to get his teeth pulled and dentures. The credit dentist spoke English as a 2nd or 3rd language and he never got Ed's teeth to fit right. Also, Ed was under a lot of stress at work because he was a security guard post commander and his supervisor sometimes came in and change the schedules he had prepared for himself and the other guards and all but one of the guards were only in the USA to make enough money and pay enough into Social Security so that they could go back to their country of origin and retire. Their attitutide as "I showed up; you expect me to work, too." While Ed certainly got no stress from me, not being able to eat with teeth and the job had an effect on his health. And his wanting to see his adult children who were more than 1500 miles away did not help either. |
