First let me say welcome to the Forum “Old Blue”
And then I would like to ask where you get your Bible understanding from? Do you study it or is someone teaching you it? Or, God forbid, is your Bible knowledge hear-say information?
I am not trying to be sarcastic, however I do not understand how you mix the statements as you do…
(Quote: He probably hates the adulterers, murderers, those who water ski on Sunday, those who covet, those who boil young goats in their mother's milk, etc....... the most. Unquote)
And then we can read a few Bible text;
Psalms 5:4-6 You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with You the wicked cannot dwell. The arrogant cannot stand in Your presence; You hate all who do wrong. You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the Lord abhors.
Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Proverbs 8:13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
Malachi 2:16 “I hate divorce,” says the Lord God of Israel, “and I hate a man’s covering himself with violence as well as with his garment,” says the Lord Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.
There are some very encouraging words in these next verses that may be out of place for this post, but by no means out of place for those who hope in the Lord,
Malachi 3:14-18 “You have said, ’It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out His requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty? But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.’” Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in His presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored His name. “They will be mine,” says the Lord Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.
Now lets consider the 10 Commandments, if you read them closely one can see that the first four have to do with our relationship to God our creator. And the last six have to do with our relationship to each other. God gave us these commandments not as a means of judging us but as a means of us judging ourselves and seeing that we are in need of a savior.
Then lets look at what God said about these commandments that were received on Mount Sinai,
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse---the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.
So I guess we could ask some questions again and refer to the text for answers.
Does child molestation fall into "the relationship to each other" part of the commandments?
Does child molestation fall into the classification of something evil?
Does child molestation fall into the classification of sins that God hates?
Do people who molest children plan out their attacks?
Do these people fear the Lord God Almighty?
What did we read about the things God HATES?
Do we take mans words and decisions over God’s Words?
God Bless
