ArchivedCongress Set to Kill Federal Marriage Amendment :: ReplyReply Now, if you had been referring to Fred Phelps and members of his family who take part in holding up signs that read GOD HATES FAGS, then I'd agree with you. They are homophobes, and they are not representatives of Christianity. They don't even know what it means to be Christians, because they don't have the foggiest idea who God really is. Secondly, just because we speak out against something that we believe and know to be a sin, does not mean that we hate and/or fear homosexuals. We love them so much, we are trying to share the Gospel with them, in the hopes that their eternal lives will be spared. We don't want people to be thrown into the lake of fire, but we know that is going to happen if they don't accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives. There is nothing hateful, bigoted, or spiteful about the message that we are spreading. It's a good and loving message, and perhaps you should start listening to it. Since you've chosen to call us homophobes, because we disagree with the gay lifestyle, does this mean that because you dislike our beliefs, we can label you a Christianphobe? From your POV, would that be a fair assessment? I believe divorce should be made illegal, unless it comes as a result of adultery or spousal abuse. (Then again, some -- myself, for example -- believe that adultery is a form of abuse.) Marriage is a sacred institution that was created by God, and it should not be altered in any way, shape, or form. Christians are not the only ones who believe this. It just seems like we're the only ones who are being yelled at and berated for our stand on the subject. Shouldn't you take your own advice? Aren't you dictating how we should act and think, and what we should believe in? And we are not dictating anything. We're simply sharing an important message with the people around us, in the hopes that they will be spared from the wrath that is to come. How can you say that we're doing a bad thing? Moral and spiritual issues are more important than the things that you listed, in that everything that takes place on this earth is temporary. The afterlife, however, is eternal. And one day, we will all have to stand before God on the Day of Judgment and give account of what we did in this life. If you still think I'm a homophobe, I challenge you to visit my website. Then hopefully, you'll realize that you have been mistaken. |
