Christian/Muslim ThreadsAllah used By Christians and Jews before Islam ?No it is not a generic term it is the proper name of G-D in the Arabic language. From what I gather those who say it is a term are only trying to appeal to the western Christianity and skeptics. As you notice again non of them made reference to an Arabic Lexicon. Why is it when people use words from the Bible they consult the respected lexicons of that language. I mean you say your a skeptic but I dont ever see you turning to see what the Lexicons says, and the Arabic scholars. No it is not a title, never was and never will be. As you see me talking to you I am not trying to compromise with you like some muslims would do to appeal to you. I am going to land it to you raw. And if there and muslims that think I am wrong on this forum then they need to come clean we can have our debates right here and we will see who will turn out victorious. I just hope whatever muslim is going to step up in the ring make sure you know arabic really well. As to this issue we well have a go at it on another thread not this one cause you have made some mistakes here with the name "Yeshu" It is not a term, the rest of the names in the Quran can only be applied to him and no other. The primary name is "Allah" the rest of the other names in the Quran ascribed to him are atributive names. They cannot be titles cause they cannot be applied to nothing else other than Allah. Even the name Yhwh if found in its cognate form "al-hayy" The Living one which is a name of Allah and its equivalent "assamad" The Self Existing Eternal One. No. How could they when Allah is ilah or when you here the statement {there is no "ilah" except "Allah"} ..... Allah is the only ilah ~ G-d. "ilah" ~ G-d is the term and Allah is the proper noun Lets see here how many time have you come accross بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ Bism-illah arRahman arRaheem in the name(singular) of Allah , The compasionate the most Merciful and again a documentary evidence from the 7th century:
The name Allah is refered to as a NAME in arabic "ism" not "sammoo or samman" ~ Title or designation
Allah has more than one name. The 99 names are atributive names not titles as Allah says "Rahman" is a name. This word nore any of his 99 attributive names CANNOT be applied to anything else other than Allah himself. Yes, and some of this has been answered above but here are some direct Quotes from Quran : Surah 1:2 Praise be to أللّـه Lord of the Words Does not Lord of the Worlds refer to G-D ? [
Does not HE who is "The first" (Al-awwalu) and The Last(al-aakhir) who is The Hidden(al-baatin) refer to G-D ?
Is not "assamad" ~ The Self Existing Eternal One refering to G-D ? is this not "Yhwh" according to Christians which has the same identical meaning as "Assamad" ? That speaks for it self. And last ayatal Kursi [2] Allah! There is no god but He, the Living(al-hayy), the Self-subsisting Eternal (al-qayyuum). No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). |
