Homosexual Discussion ForumDoes America need a TV network pushing the homosexual agendaBefore we get started, can I ask that you please cite where the scripture that you post is located in the Bible next time? What Jesus is showing to all is that this man loved his possessions more than He loved God or His neighbour. He{Jesus}Told the man to follow Him which means discipleship or anyone who condsiders themselves Christians, it is in no way implying that you must give up every single possession that you own, each person has been given their share of talents and the type and number of talents you are given is to be used and distributed wisely to the benefit and growth of the Kingdom of God and not for selfish motives which would display unconcern towards God and the love of their neighbours. He loved his possessions more than he loved God which violates the first and second Greatest Commandments. Likewise with the below verse. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:24-27 Those who lived in the time period of Jesus considered being rich or wealthy a sign of blessing from God and therefore a sign that they were saved! Jesus was demonstrating that how extremely difficult it is for a rich man to convert from his lifestyle of riches, but not impossible! So as with anyone who calls themselves True Believers must ask themselves these questions: Do you own any possessions that take the place of The Lord in your life and is that possession or possessions consuming more time than what must be done such as building the Kingdom of God with the right possessions that they are given? Are they spending more of their leisure time building up for themselves riches when that time which is given should be utilized importantly for the Kingdom of God? Jesus Himself demonstrated how valuable it is to use your talents and abilities wisely, such as with the case with this verse below: Matthew 12:11,12 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Just make sure that with each day that passes by, try and accomplish something that will help benefit the Kingdom of God. God Bless! |
