Christian/Muslim ThreadsThe Quran came from Mohammed.Naaji, respectively, I say that I am not sure that Mohammed teaches profanity and name calling (this is not meant to be funny). Having inductively studied historical and recent Islamism as well as the Holy bible in over 4 translations, I know that the Islamic belief is also in the Holy Bible, which is God Inspired (1 Timothy 3:16). Having said that, I have a Muslim friend who has given me an Al-Quran...though I do not read it to be enlightened, I read it to compare and contrast. You say that Josh has not read the Al-Quran, that may be the case, but have you read the Holy Bible? It is focused on Jesus Christ...there is NO doubt about that. I think that in order for people to debate on some things, you must first use evidence that is NOT biased. Obviously Josh believes that the Bible is the only inspired work of God, Naaji seems to think that the Al-Quran is more inspired than the Bible...what can you prove outside of the Al-Quran, and the Bible? What do I think? I think that if you read a book of literary works, you take every single sentence (in their specified contexts) and compare them. For example, if you read a poem and want to recite it in its context, you do not pick and chose the lines you like and recite those, you say ALL the lines. As for the Bible and the Al-Quran...you can not believe in both. It is one or the other. There is NO middle ground. You have one foundation, that's it. Jesus Christ died on the Cross. Every book in the New Testament talks about it, or the Second coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of Mary, brother of James. Salvation is a gift from God...not something you have to work for. God is a God of love...who gives Salvation to those who want it. He doesn't make them work for it. |
