Rejoicing and Praising Jesus Christ Forum! The irrationality of SalvationAssumptions based on observable data, big difference, we call that conclusions actually. Yes good question, Just as there are stories strikingly similiar to old testament stories found in more ancient beliefs, myths as we call them, OT wasn`t the first to suggest man`s emergence from the earth. There are similiarities in egyption mythology for sure, and we know Egypt was a thriving civilization before Judaism appeared, and it is only natural that religious thought in that area might take on new forms in religions that developed later. Egyption creation of man goes something like this in shortened form: The God Atum had been separated from his children, when he was re-united, he wept tears of joy. Where his tears hit the earth grew human beings. Ancient men constantly saw life come from right out of the earth, many of the old creation stories have influences from what people experienced, some describe and egg formed by a God, or a seed, or a sacred womb. And some speak of Gods conjuring from earth or clay, carved from wood, etc. So, in conclusion, there is nothing amazing about OT creation of man, when you take the time to study the parallels of world religion of today and yesterday. Kind of lessens the impact to find that some savage had the very same idea that a man said to be in direct contact with God did. I`m at a disadvantage, I never heard of this, by definition major leaps ruins the whole theory and makes it untenable. Who would claim this and still claim the theory is viable I wonder? Okay, I`ll be waiting |
