Christian/Muslim ThreadsSexual attrocities in Islam100% Muslim posted these passages from the Bible: Hi again To be quite honest brother, I think you are becoming desperate. You have not been able to to yet, to defend your religion in this particular area, and all you have accomplish is to depict the problem more. You have confirmed that Islam encourages wife-beating, polygamy, child marriages, rape, adultary, etc. Instead of throwing the ball to me, you should rather try to reconsider the problems with your own religion. As for the three passages you have posted, none of them causes any damage to the Christian faith. You citate [Prov. 5:18] REJOICE WITH THE WIFE of your youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe;LET HER BREASTS SATISFY YOU AT ALL TIMES However, I dont see the problem here. I am mean the Bible both the Old Testament and the New strongly encourage a good sexual lifestyle, as long as it is practiced within the frames of marriage, look at 1 Cor.7:1-4. It is a Biblical command for a married couple to enjoy each others and fullfil the sexual responsibilities. As for Proverbs 5:18, the man is to enjoy his wife and her body, and that is nothing but natural, and positive in a marriage. As a matter of fact this is what would enthril every wife, which is lacking in a whole lot marriages today. Let me also say here, that such sexual activity in a marriage is virtually impossible, say you have several wives. It is a fact that a man is quite limited in his sexual capacity and manages possibly to engage in 5 intercourses pr week, and less as the years pass on. There are of course other means, however, sexual activity is time-demanding, and there is virtually no way a man would be able to effectively satisfy 3 or 4 womens in a life-scale basis. If you look at the context you see that the man is basically to lust for his wife rather than another man's wife, in other words he is to abstain from adultary. However, this can in no way be said about Islam, since some of the women who were raped out on the battle field, were raped by Muhammad's followers, while their husbands (also captives) were present. This certainly comes under adultary, but Islam chose has legalize it, rather than condemn it. Secondly, Muhammad himself lusted after his adopted sons wife, and with the permission and a command from God, made his son divorce her, where upon he took her as his wife. I have heard all sorts of explanation on this matter from Muslims, however, the only solution I can come up with is lust and fornication. The passage of Proverbs 5: 18 encourages faithfulness to the wife of your youth, in other words it honours a man who has stayed faithful in marriage and love toward his wife. When considering the incident between Muhammad and his adopted son and his wife, we may ask ourselves wetter such honour can be described to Muhammad and his followers. The wife of your youth, causes no problem at all, it simply states that both were young when they got married, there is not referation to nine year old couples, however, if it were, they were both youths, not the one (typically the wife) being nine and the husband 56, like Muhammad and Aisha. Thus I personally dont mind marriages between two youths say one is 15 and the other 17 or so, however, I sincerily question if a nine year old, having reached puperty is ready for sexual activity and pregnancy especially with one who could be her grand father. Additionally there is to say that there are typical examples of this in our modern era, and typically great damage occurs, both mentally and physically. Typically such girls give birth to a damaged or still born baby, and typically they are unable to give birth again, as was with Aisha. It is famous as well that such girls burst their urine bladder and drip urine for the rest of their life. Thus, only because a girl has reached puberty it does not mean that she is ready for sexual penetration, this is a sick and perverse way of thinking. Then you refer to [Song. 8:8] We have a little sister, and she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister on the day when is spoken for? I was a wall, and MY BREASTS WERE LIKE TOWERS. I dont know what your point is here, but this only proves my point, neither the Old Testament nor the New Testament legalizes the marriages of underage nine-year old girls, having reached puberty or not. I think that by taking the verse out of its context and changing its wording, you assume that the verse, speaks of a little girl who has not formed into any maturity but whose breast were like towers, and thus ready for marriage. However, this is not what the verse is saying. Take a close look and you will see that the passage totaly goes against the child marriages and the attrocities which Islam has legalized. Lets see the passage in its context. We have a young sister, and her breast are not yet grown. What shall we do for our sister the day she is spoken for? If she is a wall we will build towers of silver on her. If she is a door we will enclose her with panels of cedar (Song of songs 8:8-9) This girl is surely young, her breasts are not yet grown. However, some perverse comes to ask for her in marriage. And in the context the brothers ask themselves what to do. They decide to protect her, thus the words: if she is a door we will enclose her. If a wall we will build towers on her to protect her from intruders. [Deut. 25:11] When men fight with one another, and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him, and puts out her hand seizes him by the private parts, then you shall cut off her hand; your eye shall have not pity. This is certainly a negative text, however let me first make it clear that Christians are not obligated to follow the Mosaic social and political law. The law of Moses was meant for the nation of Israel in a particular era. The laws match the the barbaric tendency of the society, and seeks to guide and control them in that setting. The passage concerns with the chazaq. The Hebrew word chazaq means to fasten upon, which in ancient days as today was a combat technic for a women or a man to grab a males private parts in order to damage them in say a fight. This practice was famous in the Assyrian society as well, and the Eastern laws did attempt to deal with the matter. The Mosaic laws enforced the tooth for tooth and eye for eye rule. Thus if you deliberately damaged someones eye, your eye will be damaged in return as a means of captical punishment. The chazaq practice was meant to cause lasting damage, thus such practice was punished severely. Obviously if a man used the chazaq tactic his own private parts would be damaged. However, if a women used chazaq on someone, there were no private parts to damage as a punishment, instead her hand was cut of. The context of Deut.25:11 refers to the matter of producing offspring, which fits well to verse 11, in that chazaq would virtually make a man impotent and destroy his capability of producing offspring, thus chazaq came under the eye for an eye rule, and since the man lost possible offspring, the women lost her hand. Barbaric ofcourse, and quite crazy when considering a typical modern society as today. However, as Christians we are not under the law, and Jesus abrogated the earlier laws such as the eye for an eye (Matthew 5: 38-39). As Christians we follow the new law, the law as prophesized by the earlier prophets which is given by the Holy Spirit (Joel 2) into the heart of every believer. Sure the ancient laws were strict and barbaric, but in a barbaric society, I do state as my religion does however, that the law was childish, while the new law of the Spirit is a law for the mature. Why Islam goes back to what a Christian would call immaturity, and yet claims to be inferior is a mystery to me. Peace Kai |
