Quran and Bible debateKoran confirms Jesus Crucifixion...((((((((((PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE RESPONDING THANK YOU)))))))))))) I used Abdullah Yusf Ali's translation of 19:33 cause the source you used used it, whereas that he translated the same thing with Yahya. I used the same source that you all came from in which I exerted with Yahya. He interpolated (again) at the end of the verse in which christian run away with to mean his resurrection after crucifixion but missed the statement for Yahya from the same translator. And all those translators are Sunni muslims that have translated that verse to conform with hadith perspective of Jesus's second return. Now where did you come up with this as "THE MAJORITY OF SCHOLARS ? " Let me use Apple Pies little technique "WA" An insepeparable prefixed conjunction: And; Also; Wilst; At; Together; With. The Dictionary of The Holy Quran By: Abdul Mannan Omar Page 599 [ I am using you as bait for someone please excuse me] You now want to rely on translations rather than approaching the Arabic while you know being Bilingual as I am that you cannot translate from one language into another language word for word in which you LOOSE meaning. The actions of dieing (Mutawaffee) and(wa) raising (Raafi'a) happened at the same conclusive time. One did not happen after the other or the other is going to happen later. Thus we criticize translations cause in english its easier for you to twist and turn the meaning for whatever purpose whereas the Arabic is more explicit. THose Translators you quote have criticized each other in their prefaces not to mention many other Scholars and Arabic speakers have criticized them all in their inaccurateness. The foes of Islam who have studied the language of the Quran have said: One of the things I have found so grave is that those translators who where Pakinstani translated alot of the Quran in the veiw of their culture and their bias towards Jews etc. You still want us to trust their translation ? I can understand when you use a translation to establish a point but when you try to use them to discredit what I am reading from the Quran we will rip those translations to shreds. They contain soo many errors its pathetic. You are wrong they have not been widely accepted. They where the most widely known, but also the most criticized. I am coming from the Arabic I do not read translations. What I translate is what the Quran is telling me. How you want to accept a particular translation is fine with me, but it holds no water with us when we are coming from the source it self not something watered down. YOu should have learned by now that those translators in their second editon of their translations of their work changed the meaning of "Mutawaffee" Causing you to die, descease, or taking you soul to some pathetic meaning to conform with hadith Abdullah Yusaf Ali's ORIGNAL release translated " Innee Mutawafee" as "I am causing you to die" then in his second edition they changed it to " I am taking you " As to SHAKIR please read his commentary. His translation of "Mutawaffee" as I am going to terminate the period of your stay (on earth) does not conform to my translation " taking you soul or causing you to descease" He clearly states in his commentary that Mutawaffee does not mean to die but as for Jesus his stay on earth will be teriminated for a time and then will later continue in his second coming when he will finally die. Those translators that you are trying to use for the bases of your arguement flawed in translating the whole context including the conjuction "WA" and/while. Funny how christian acknowledge the translators errors and diliberate altering of the meaning of the arabic but still they want to use their translations as an authentic and accurate source to debate with muslims. |
