Genesis 17:14 Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."
Although my parents did this to me, I never saw a good reason for it.
But for some people this sure would be reason enough eh?
Strange custom. The big question is if God found that little bit of skin offensive, Why`d he create it in the first darn place? Just so we could cut it off?
Circumcision was a physical sign of God's covenant with the Jews and only the Jews. Under the New Covenant circumcision is not mandated so your parents have not condemned you if you are uncircumcised.
Galatians 5:6
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. NAS
1 Corinthians 7:19-20
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God. 20 Let each man remain in that condition in which he was called. NAS
