Rejoicing and Praising Jesus Christ Forum! The irrationality of SalvationSorry I missed that. I actually accept the laws of gravity. I can see what gravity does, and I know how it behaves. I am not putting faith in the fact that if I drop something, it will continues to fall until something stops it`s path. I know it will, and I can test this law any time I want to. The other aspects of gravity are what makes up all of it`s laws, the behavior has been studied enough to be acceptable to everyone. The laws of gravity are therefore scientific fact, as opposed to theory. Now about theory; Every individual scientific theory is backed up with logic and observation. There is no faith involved, we have no holy men telling us stories we can`t back up. Theory stays theory when what we know can`t be verified with what we can`t test. Theory can provide laws which we can follow, even though we don`t know what causes those laws to be. Christian conclusions are it`s definition. Conclusions of science are the result of the scientific method. All you did was tell me why you didn`t accept it. -Explain how this story came to be? -Explain why people would believe it? You missed this part, but I take it you mean a "myth" is imagining our deepest roots on earth, and making up a story to explain it. -This is what you feel about every shred of religious thought that didn`t come from the thought you follow, BTW, and there sure has been alot. I was hoping you would answer why people would believe it, I don`t know if it makes you uncomfortable or not, is it hard to answer? |
