Rejoicing and Praising Jesus Christ Forum! The irrationality of SalvationTrue science is unbiased on that I will agree. You accept that gravity exists without knowing how gravity works and then question the existance of God because you cannot explain God. You accept the concepts of science without fully comprehending the how and why and call this logical and rational while at the same time questioning the rationality and logical processes of people of faith. This is called a double standard. Charles and Boyles laws regarding the behavior of gases when compressed and heated are the laws that call the big bang into question. As to string theories, they are just that theories that attempt to explain what mathematics cannot explain and since math is pure logic it is doubtful string theories will ever be proven. The most intriguing new science (in my opinion) regards black holes and the questions they bring up regarding dimentions. We live as 4 dimentional beings and attempt to explain our existance based on these observable dimentions. However, I believe science theorizes 9 dimentions based on mathematical models. As to the Mayan myth, I don't accept it since we know man was "created" from dust, which has been proven scientifically; not wood. What is interesting about the Mayan myth and myths from other cultures is how they resemble the Biblical accounts of creation and the flood. I did a couple papers while in college on creations and flood myths. They are fascinating reading. Do you know who Robert Jastrow is and have you read his book God and the Astonomers? |
