ArchivedAltered states of consciousness and religious thought.but not these? Umm 50 years from now? I hate seeing sloppy science like this, it hurts, oww! "about 1000 heart patients" Okay was it a thousand, Nine hundred fifty, one thousand and four? Well I guess they didn`t think it was important, (groan) SO let`s say there was an even thousand, for sake of arguement.
I would like some more numbers, but all I got is 11 percent fewer heart attacks, strokes and life-threatening complications in the prayed for group. Since I don`t know the numbers, which, by the way are kind of important, I will point out that this indicates there were some instances of heart attacks, strokes and life-threatening complications within the prayed for group. So we`ll say that in the group that was NOT prayed for, there was 100 instances of heart attacks, strokes and life-threatening complications. That would make the 11% fewer group (that were prayed for) have 89 instances of heart attacks, strokes and life-threatening complications. Hardly a landslide here, and we don`t even know the individual states of the subjects, because as we all know, every person is different and their health problems may affect them differently. Next the aids study. Dr. Targ is now late, I believe she died at the age of 41, infatuation with spritual healing notwithstanding. "pretty much" the same treatment (oww) You know what`s wrong with this study? Aids is a death sentence, the average person who contracts HIV will live about ten years from time of infection, with some people dying within 2-3 years and some living as long a 15-20 years. Four who had not been prayed for died. Well inevitably, the experiment would be over, because they would all die, and the cause would be AIDS complications, there is no cure, only lots of medications to buy you more time. I looked into some names mentioned: Dr. Elizabeth Targ Dr. Deepak Chopra http://www.chopra.com/ These two are into Noetic science. Spritual healing, Yoga, etc. The experiments were actually not based on praying to the Christian God, I`m not sure why a Christian would use it as proof of how praying works anyway? Thanks for the Junk science tho`! |
