ArchivedCommunion: A right way to do it? :: confusing? maybe...confusing? maybe...
To Life Immortal
Hello it's Epiphany again. This has been a good discussion, Whosurdaddy. I've never heard your version of the 1 Corinthians verses before. Essentially, it seems you're saying that the people got sick and died because they were rude and greedy during church. Fascinating. This is news to me and I would have to think about that. As for the verses in John, yes, some of the people left Lord Jesus because they thought he was talking about cannibalism, which is a sin. I don't know, Whosurdaddy, but when I read that at the Last Supper what Lord Jesus said, I still see ......This is my body......This is my blood. Maybe this is why the Orthodox church doesn't teach transubstatiation (sp?) but says the Holy Spirit changes the elements, but we don't specify how; we just believe it's a Mystery. I still believe in the Real Presense in the sacrament as well as what Aineo said:
(ooops, forgive me; seems i've the quote tags wrong. how do i quote someone correctly?)

I believe that when someone accepts Jesus as Lord, the Holy Spirit comes to guide and be their friend. When I joined the Orthodox Church, I was chrismated (anointed with oil) after baptism. It's like Confirmation. After that, I could receive the sacraments. I believe all Christians have Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit make us all one in Lord Jesus regardless of denomination or doctrine. The Holy Spirit also corrects us. Sometimes I say bad words. One time, I said something I shouldn't have and I heard, 'You know that's not something a Christian should say'. I work on watching my language. Holy Spirit also lets me know I'm not alone. I am isolated from people and I use the computer to talk with others. I hope to continue to learn from the Holy Spirit and others I as progress on this path.I like this board; it give you things to think about.
Peace and Long Life
