Creation of JCF Statement of FaithDo babies goto heaven? That's the point I'm trying to make! Regardless of whether or not we sin or whether we think anyone is innocent, there is a curse of death on all of us. You are the one who is saying that the curse is put on us individually only after we sin. Where in the Bible does it say that? I always thought the Bible teaches that the curse was put on all of us at the moment of Adam's sin. As I said, Adam was not created with a sin nature. We are. Just because the end result is the same does not mean we all started out the same. Because we are conceived in sin. Really? I would have answered "yes" to that one. Obviously, Adam was not like Jesus in the respect that Jesus is God. But I believe Adam was sinless and perfect before he sinned, and that would make the answer to your question "yes." Don't you believe that Adam was sinless before he sinned? So you believe he was innocent before he sinned, but not sinless and perfect. Tell me, how can you be innocent at the same time as being sinful and imperfect? Why would he be? If he's got a curse on him (see above answer to first question in this post), then it's probably a pretty safe bet to say that he's not innocent. That's not the point. We are not deemed guilty and sent to hell because of any one sin that we commit. We are guilty because we are sinners with a sin nature that we received from Adam. A baby could commit no sin at all and still be sent to hell because it has the nature of a sinner. If (and this is a huge "if") someone lived to the age of 50 and never sinned, do you think they'd go to heaven? So, you're admitting that a baby is guilty? Otherwise, why would it have to pay a price? And if it is guilty, then why would it go to heaven? I could care less what Adam's original sin was - he could have picked his nose as a sin, for all I care. No one is paying the price for Adam's specific sin. We are all paying the price of Adam's general sin - rebellion against God. Here's a verse you quoted to me: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Sin didn't enter the world until Adam sinned. How then could he have been created with a sin nature? Also, how could God have said everything was "very good" at the end of his creation if there was sin in one of His creations? |
