NOTES:
Additional information, which was not posted in the article, though are worthy of mention are the following.
1. Looking from a stricly historical view, the transmission of power from Moses to Joshua (Yeshua) is the example of the line of prophets that would follow. And this is also supported by the Qu'ran, "We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of apostles." (2.087) The Qu'ran teaches that every Apostle (i.e., prophet) that came after Moses came to VALIDATE Moses' words, which were given to him from God.
2. The transmission of power from Moses to Yeshua is a shadow of that which was to come, for it was Yehsua (Ha Moshiach) who was to take the rulership of the People of God. As it is written, "Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses." (Deut 34) Who is the wisdom of God? Jesus. Who is the prophet to whom God gave all dominion, and authority, and power, whether in heaven or on earth? Jesus. For the Father has given all authority unto the Son. The people hearkened unto Joshua, as God had commanded, that "unto him you shall hearken", yet it was not Joshua the ultimate fulfillment of this prophecy, rather it was Yeshua Ha Moshiach.
3. It is important to mention, as well, that Muslims like to argue about how the Qu'ran is the only "word" of God, which was directly from God. Yet, that is a false claim, since Mohammed never claimed to have spoken to God himself, rather he claimed to have received the message from Gabriel. And, then Mohammed was to transmit the message to his companions, and then his companions were to write it down on material that is not suitable for writing! And then we have the fact that the collection of diverse writings was not supposed to have been compiled during the life of Mohammed, but was compiled after his death!
4. The Qu'ran was not written in only one dialect. there are sources, specifically, Sahih Bhukari who inform us that the Qu'ran was written in 7 dialects, and that the Qu'ran could be recited in different order, and/or form, not caring for perfect accuracy. This leaves us with the fact that, the Qu'ran in itself is not even to be trusted as the original work, since we have six dialects that were distroyed.
Blessings!
