Hi Everyone....
Elsa:
The very first paragraph... you see the thing is you already have a presumption that the Bible is without error. there are no mistakes in it. and it anyone were to say that there are errors in it then automatically the response will be "but the bible has no mistaken. it is the word of God. there cant be mistakes in it." something similar to a circular argument.. i hope you understand...
The point is ... Yes previous books were sent by God to their respective persons/prophets. Moses, Abraham, Jesus, David.... etc.... (i dont know if your aware of this but there are books called the aprophycia or something like that... the catholic church classifies them as forbidden or hidden books... texts from these books give a different light on todays bible) but none of those books were actually preserved... what we have today is a rough translation of what the author thinks is the original... also when a person does a translation of a book from one language to another... well it all depends on the translators vocabulary of the original book as well as the language to which it will be written.. and his understanding of words... and his previous mental state etc... meaning any holy book translated is not exactly Gods words but the words of man who understood it as much as possible as his mental capabilities allowed him.
It is a well known fact that the Bible we have today is no the original one that existed 2000 minus 30 some years ago... as a matter of a fact the Bible was formed by a council back in 325ad. Meaning it took the church 300 years to come up with a Bible. or atleast determine which parts to put in it and which not to.
Keeping all the above in mind any rational intelligent person will have to come to a conclusion that the Bible we have today is not totally the word of God. How ever this does not mean the entire book is to be disregarded... It has been heavily edited... but it still contains words of wisdom.
the "WE" part...
well thats an easy one... Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew,Hindi... and someother languages have the word "we" or "us" refering to one person but as a sign of respect. English on the ohter hand doesnt make any difference between "we" as in common persons or "we" as in queen of england.... its a language thing... If you know any indian or pakistani you could ask them this...
I have heard that during judgment day, in the Qur'an it says that each person will need to receive forgiveness for crimes against others (say they hurt them in some way or another) Is this true? IF so may I have the verse that it says that?
Its logical... eg: you came and stole some of my stuff... and i know about it... i took it up with your dad. but your dad just said its ok Elsa... I (dad) forgive you. and end of story.. or Elsa... this is wrong... you will be punished. you are grounded for 2 weeks... and end of story ... but i still didnt get back my stuff... in the end i am the one who is losing out. even if you are punished for it or not i still lose. so its not fair for me... meaning i have to be compensated... 3rd senario.. your dad makes you do tons of chores and your allowance is given to me as payment for the stuff stolen.... then yes i can say i have been treated justly. its something like an eye for an eye... but yes i know an eye here and an eye there makes everyone blind. but the lesson is there for all to see and learn... btw... no offence on the example... dont take it seriously... its just an example...
As for verses i dont think i have come across one yet... dont know if there is one either... but there are many hadiths... if you wish i could post them....
Contradiction between 5:51 and 5:82
the first one says dont be friends with them yet the 2nd one says its ok to be friends with christians because they have priests and monks and other god-people among them... now remember the story when God was going to destroy sodom and gomorrah... and Abraham kept asking for mercy if even if there was just 1 good guy there... and God said if there is just 1 person good then the whole city will be spared... similarly... the Jews and the Christians had formed a sort of alliance against Islam from the very begining... come to think of it ... if this wernt true i dont think this forum would exist... anyways... so as per instruction it is preferable to avoid contact with them... but there are some good persons there... and because of these good guys the religion itself should not be labeled as bad...

YUSUFALI: That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
PICKTHAL: And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.
SHAKIR: And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.
the verses above clearly say the Jews were going around saying Jesus has been killed/crucified etc... but God replies back that they didnt kill Jesus nor crucify him... well that takes care of mentioning the crucifixion... as for 19:33... what it says is that peace be upon Jesus the day he was born, the day he will die and the day he will be brought back to life... i really dont see any time or place or whatever mentioned that indicated anything that Jesus died... as far as his death is concerned .. yes he too has to die... just like everyone else... but he isnt dead yet. He is alive and well and with God. when he comes back (the 2nd comming) well thats when he will live and die... and come judgment day he will be raised again. Hope this clears out the misunderstanding....
