ArchivedGerani, youll want to read thisCalvary Chapel is the denomination and a lot of independent Bible teaching churches reject the use of the cross as not being historically representative of Christianity until the time of Constantine in the 4th century. Calvary Chapel does use a stylized dove as a denominational logo, however it is nothing more than a logo and it not used in worship. The only symbol used in the 1st century church was the sign of a fish and that was only to designate meeting places for Christians. The Catholic Church and the Orthodox churches are about the only ones that use images and the crucifix. The Catholic Church uses the rosary and I don't believe the Orthodox churches do. |
