ArchivedGerani, youll want to read thisbah. SORRY. but the whole point was, we find the same symbolizm you do. like that crown of thorns and nails (in ur avatar). symbolizm for the Christ and how he died for ppl's sins. same thing for the 'statues' and other holy 'objects' in hinduism. it is to help the worshipper. mind you, all hindu worship is done individually. there are communal gatherings, but its not like mass where its dictated every sunday. christianity has gone astray several times throughout history from its original meaing by God. thats why there are so many denominations! christians and hindus believe in God. thats the only thing that matters. technically we believe in 'Jesus' as the incarnation of God. God in his incarnation has appeared several times in India (specifically to the HIndus, but once to *future* Buddhists and hindus too) we all believe in God. if you can get beyond the physicaly and literal differences, i think there can be peace in the world. |
