Aineo wrote:Well, lets see. Atheists, Muslims, Christians, and other religious groups oppose gay unions. Cheap grace liberals are about the only Christian's who either back gay unions and refuse to take a stand. So I guess the non-Christians who oppose gay unions are trying to force Christian morality on the gay community?
Your logic is what I would expect from a gay theology proponant.
Standing for God's truth in the secular world is not forcing my beliefs on anyone. If the majority of the American public vote to legalize gay unions I will abide by the law, however, I do have the right to express and vote my beliefs.
Rom 11:19-20
19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." 20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. NAS
Matt 12:29-30
29 "Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. NAS
2 Cor 13:7-8
7 Now we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we should appear unapproved. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth. NAS
1 Peter 4:19
19 Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right. NAS
Luke 11:23
23 "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters. NAS
By promoting gay unions, which violate God's perfect will for mankind your Christian witness is compromised.
So far you have done nothing on this site but promote a Satanic agenda that violates God's will. You have made some statements that are not true; one of which is that gay men and lesbian women choose those desires. If that is your experience then would you mind sharing at what age you decided to be gay and be sexually attracted to men?
You are not only promoting lies you are denying your Savior by approving gay unions through actively promoting gay unions. How does Paul put it?
Rom 1:32
32 and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. NAS
Opposing gay unions is not violating preaching the gospel it is standing for what is right. Approving gay unions is not going to gain you respect from the gay community since most in the gay community view Christians as prideful bigots. They will see this as a victory for them and a defeat for Christians.
Eph 6:12-20
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. NAS
Aineo my friend, when you quote scripture you are only repeating a part of a very big puzzle. Please remember to consider how the puzzle you are quoting compares to other parts that you don't mention.
1 Corinthians 5:12>What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."[2]
If that scripture isn't pointing to a separation between church and state, please tell me so, and I will dust my feet now.
You know what, I charge you by the blood of Calvary - to answer me..............wouldn't that scripture tell Christians to not concern ourselfs with the morality of the heathens, unsaved and alike ? Don't wiggle away from this; I am telling you to stand up and don't run from this man !
Another thing, don't play popularity contest with me about what most folks think about any given issue. If you don't know your history, it was once the popular belief in America that blacks should be slaves - im not impressed with the opinions of men.
I don't argue just for the sense of arguing. Once I believe that a person doesn't consider the obvious - I dust my feet. If you don't consider 1 Corinthians 5:12 a scripture that warns Christians to start and end judgement in the house of the Lord, nothing that I could show you in the scriptures matter - it makes no sense for us to continue.
Take a good look at Noah's ark, it is metaphorically the Church; those that were outside of the ark perished, as today those that are not baptised by the Spirit are not of the body of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 12:13). Even inside the church you have goats amoung the sheep; tare amoung the wheat, as you had clean animals amoung the unclean.
It is not of your concern of how gay I was; what matters is that I repented. I am not glorifying my past life, neither have I said that it is good for people to be gay. We don't live in a theorocracy; we live in a spiritual kingdom as Christians if we are born again. We live amoung the world, and are called to be not of the world. Come on man, if you don't see how the Bible respects the right of the world, I don't know what to tell you.
last scripture, and I am done. Look at Ephesians 2:1-3
1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature[1] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.
The ways of this world.....lived amoung them
