First off, please note that my belief that homosexuality and other sexual sins are not out of fear, but based on my belief in Jesus and what his word teaches.
Yes, believing in Jesus is followed by living as he taught, and that would include giving up our own desires and replacing them with his. Is it easy? No. But I've found it much more gratifying in the long run to obey Jesus rather than my own flesh.
Teaching that a person can be redeemed from his terrible sins is the THEME of Christianity. It doesn't just include sexual sins, it's ALL sins, and ALL sins come naturally to human beings and are more pleasurable than doing right at the time, or we wouldn't sin.
On another note, have you ever read the bible or examined your belief about God without prejudice of what other people think? What I mean is, once a person sees Christians doing something they disagree with, they have the tendency to base their idea of what Christianity is based on what they've seen from fallible people instead of seeking it out personally for themselves.
