Colossians 2 Vs 8:
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Right, firstly I entirely agree. But the first part says SPOIL.
1. To impair the value or quality of.
2. To damage irreparably; ruin.
3. To impair the completeness, perfection, or unity of; flaw grievously: spoiled the party.
Could you point out where belief in the Big Bang theory has spoiled my faith in Christ or life as a Christian? If we were talking about kinderhook plates, Muhammed being the last prophet above Jesus, or gay marriage then yes, I'd say I'd been spoiled! But we need direct Biblical evidence that contradicts the Big Bang, or vice versa. I don't think this verse satisfies this stipulation. Mind you, you said for starters, so I could be about to eat my words...........
