Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesOnce Saved always Saved Clarified by Jesus Himself!Wow. Now there's a contradiction! No man means no man. It does not leave any room for exceptions. If it did it would say "no man, except for yourself, can pluck you out of my Father's hand." On top of that, I believe (I don't have my Bible in front of me) in this verse that the word "man" is in italics. So a more correct reading is "neither shall any pluck them out of my Fathers' hand." This implies that there is absolutely nothing, not even the Son, who can pluck anyone out of the Father's hand. Do you really think you are more powerful than the Son and can pluck yourself out of God's hand even when He cannot? Not true. See above. Ok. But I don't recall seeing one that says "if you sin, then you're not saved anymore." Ever heard of "carnal Christians"? Paul teaches that there are three kinds of people - Natural, Spiritual, and Carnal. Natural are those that are not saved. Spiritual are those that are saved and are living a life of obedience to God. Carnal are those that are saved but are not living a life of obedience to God. Without OSAS, how can you have carnal people? If there's no OSAS, then you are either living in obedience and therefore saved, or not living in obedience and therefore not saved. What you are saying is that Paul (and therefore God) was wrong about the possibility of there being carnal Christians. |
