Abortion Memorial ServiceBabies in Hell?Very good point, Nick! This brings us to the question of what exactly are we found guilty of when compared to God. Are we guilty because we have actually committed sins, or are we guilty simply because we have a sinful nature? IOW, hypothetically, if a regular man lived a sinless life, would he be allowed into heaven since he committed no sin, or would he be sent to hell because he had a sin nature? I tend to think that we are condemned because of our sin nature, not just by any acts that we commit. Our sin nature affects everything we do, that's why in Proverbs 21:4, we read that "even the plowing of the wicked is sin." Because of our sin nature, everything we do apart from God is sin, even if we think we are doing it for a good cause. (As an aside, this is a good point to raise with those who say "if our bad works condemn us to hell, then why can't we do good works to get into heaven?" The fact is that it isn't our sin that sends us to hell. It's our sin nature - the fact that everything we do is tainted by sin, that we are all predisposed to sin, no matter if we actually sin or not.) So as it relates to this thread, the very fact that the baby exists means that it is guilty before God, since it has that sin nature at the moment of conception. *sigh* I hate saying stuff like this. It makes me seem like such a heartless jerk. Please understand when I say these things it's only because I'm trying to convey what I believe God teaches. If I'm wrong, well, that's what I'm here for.... to learn! |
