ArchivedWhy Should Gays not be Allowed to Marrythats probably a different form of strict hinduism talks of how in order for a person to gain salvatin through the yoga of RENUNCIATION. there are 3 other yogas that show a way to God. this book was written centuries ago, written for the person after the houshold stage, ready to renounce everything and get ready for death. as i said, what the guy on the site said was probably a different form of strict hinduism. i believe as an average HIndu, that sex is for pleasure and procreationg. Hinduism has a big emphasis on sexual intercourse because when you unite two lovers physcially, you join them spiritually and mentally, it can be compared to the intercourse man has with God spiritually. there are also sexual references in hinduism, some major ones, like the siva lingam (wich also represents the simplicity and unity of God, not just a human organ). the females like paru and lakshmi are all beautiful and depicted in statues with full, round breasts, a slender waist and beautiful curves of thier hips. they are often shown leaning to one side with one arm glides over her hip and the other holds a lotus. sexiness. of course, these statues adorn temples, but there are respective ones that are used for prayer. some people may say hinduism is perverted. take the kama sutra (pillow book/scripture) for example. it talk about the unity of two lovers like the unity of man and God. and it shows several pictures of how to have sex in several ways to have pleasure. some temple walls deep in the heart of India, have sex scenes. this of course is to teach couples how to have sex in a pleasureful way and enjoy what God has given them and procreate. remeber, their culture is different. so dont start comparing it to westerns and calling it absurd, perverted and twisted, because you are used to western society's moral rules. i love anthropology! |
