THE FALLACY OF CHRISTIANITY & RELIGION
by the Greate Sage
A Christian is born into a religion that he does not question, but rather merely accepts. He gives up free will and cannot contemplate life’s teachings. For if he stopped to smell the flowers, he would become whole and not need such a religion.
It is not surprising that many of the “die-hard” Christians know very little of their own faith. They go about accusing others of blasphemy, sin and bigotry... yet are clueless as to where their doctrine comes from. They claim to be spreading the words of God — pure blasphemy. Let me share with you what theological studies can prove.
There is no historical evidence of Jesus. In fact, early Christians did not even know of Jesus or his virgin birth, yet another myth. The virgin Mary story actually evolved from an Egyptian tale that pre-existed for centuries. Most scholars now agree that the story is a mistranslation and is most likely an addition by later Christians. Furthermore, Messianic stories had been prevalent during these times for ages.
THE STORY OF JESUS
If Jesus was a real person, he was a great teacher of values. However, Jesus did not mean to found a new religion, nor did he ever intend his teachings to reach non-Jews. For Jesus openly states many times that his purpose included only his people. In one such instance, Jesus calls a Samaritan woman a dog, and it is only when she admits to being a dog, does he help her.
To understand Jesus’ true message, one must look at history. Jerusalem had been put under Roman rule and the Jewish Nation was once again oppressed. To make matters worst, the Priests and Jewish Leaders became corrupt while assuming high positions and no longer cared for those in need. These Leaders would be the target of Jesus’ sermon.
The significance of Jesus was that he was coming to aid his fellow Jews in a time where hope was much needed. Jesus knew that an outright revolt against Rome was unrealistic, therefore, he came with open heart. His message was simple: the Jews must love one another in this time of turmoil if they are to continue. For this reason, Jesus was constantly opposing the Teachers of the Law who did not care for the lame, diseased or outcast.
Jesus knew he was going to die for his beliefs, but he believed himself to be a martyr. Perhaps, he believed it was his obligation to life and humanity. Whatever the case, his story is a fantastic tale of self-sacrifice, not religion.
THE ORIGINS OF CHRISTIANITY
If anyone, Paul was the upstarter of Christianity. He was the one who travelled the globe preaching in Christ’s name, yet he never knew Jesus. Ironically, Paul never mentions the human Jesus, but always a Messianic Jesus. It should also be noted that Paul and the followers of Peter did not agree. Peter himself remained skeptical of Paul’s claims.
In 400 A.D. Constantine legalized Christianity. Christians would have us believe that he “saw the light,” however history proves that he continued to worship other gods. The decision convert to Christianity was a brilliant political and social move for Constantine. How do you get soldiers to fight for your cause? Tell them they’re fighting for God, and if they die, they’re going to heaven.
Thus, began a Eurocentric campaign called the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholics did away with Jewish customs and added their own forte. Later on, it would be the Protestants, Mormons and so forth. One big mess with nothing to do with Jesus.
OLD TESTAMENT vs. NEW TESTAMENT
As mentioned earlier, I don’t believe Jesus ever claimed to be a Messiah, but his words were often taken out of contexts. But suppose we are to take Christinianity seriously, there would still be constradictions. The NT cannot survive without the OT, yet the OT does not agree with the NT.
For one thing, the OT never once mentions a trinity, but clearly states that there is “One God.” The trinity idea doesn’t appear until much, much later... Many scholars agree that this idea came also came from Egyptian religion, which utilizes the same principle of a trinity.
The OT mentions that the Savior will be called Emmanuel, not Jesus.
Also, the prophecy of the Messiah states that he will come and destroy the enemies of Isreal with a might army. It DOES NOT state that he will come, die and then come again.
Jesus, according to the NT, believed the Kingdom of God was at hand. He states this frequently, and even says that some with him would witness this coming... It has been 2000 years, and I doubt any of those witnesses are still alive.
In the OT, God is the source of good and evil... It is not until later that satan is introduced, another element of latter Christians.
RELIGION IN GENERAL
Religion is a construct for our fears, primarily the fear of death. For all church goers show up every Sunday hoping they don’t lose their mortality. But the God in religion is so much like a man-made invention, that the idea cannot be denied. God seems to be changing with the times. He is like a jealous child at times, a judge and dictator... whatever the changing season.
If God exists, he is incomprehensible, neither good nor evil... For good and evil exists only in human thought, and not in nature or the universe. Anyone who has a grasp of his own humanity will understand this, for we cannot comtemplate anything outside of human though, emotions etc...
How can one truly say what if from a God and what is not? Were the Salem Witch Trials justified because the jurors truly believed in God? Do not think that Faith is your answer, for it is simply a word, the same word I use except I put meaning behind it. Who can say what is heaven or hell, not your scriptures, for they are man-made tools. Next time, use your intuition.
