Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
The Spirit of God was indeed willing to bear the cup of suffering but the flesh is weak, understand this my friend?
When Jesus CRIED OUT,"MY God, My God, Why hast thou forsaken me!"
That is a triumphant shout!
Don't believe me?
It is written: John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It was not possible for His cup of suffering to pass, do we understand this yet?
No?
God's Love surpassed the possibility of the suffering of Jesus soul to pass and to be removed, understand?
His Love transcended the possibility of Hsi suffering to be removed.
Still don't believe me?
John 17:23 - I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Loved them{You, me , and everyone}as God has loved His Son!!!
How is it possible, because the Son is God and loves the world as Himself.
So when He cried out,"MY God, My God, Why hast thou forsaken me" It meant, God was saying that I love the world so much that it is not possible for the cup to pass thereby making Him forsaking the Son.
Do you really belive that Jesus did not know He was going to utter those words?
He knew the scriptures better than Satan, and in Psalm 22, His words were quoted beforehand!
It is a shame how people cannot understand the beauty and magnitude AND DEPTHS OF HIS LOVE!
God Bless!
