Christian/Muslim ThreadsQuestions for ChristiansWelcome back ma Lady, It would have been best if you would have finished your initial discussion with Omega before asking him this second question. Things have to be done with patience and order. Nonetheless, what is done is done, and I will respond to your question. When reading this verse, you have to read it in its context. You can start at verse 39 (or any verse before it) to get a sense of what Paul is saying. The bodies we have now are in sin, but the bodies of those who died in Christ will have spiritual bodies in the sense of it will not have any corruption. As the John Gill Exposition puts it: "not as to substance, but as to its quality; it will not be changed into a spirit; our Lord's risen body, to which ours will be conformed, was not a spirit, but, as before, consisted of flesh and bones: but the body will then be subject to the spirit and soul of man; it will be employed in spiritual service" |
