to nick: there are many scriptures, not one. theres the Mahabharata, an epic story (the worlds most longest poem) and it includes the Bhagavad Gita, which is a must read. there is also the Ramayana.
the above are stories, that share deep morals and such. for a concise tool to use in all aspects of life, the bhagavad gita is a good read (there are many translations, thus many meanings) and is very complex.
there are also the Vedas, Upanishads and such. it goes on and on...
to omega: you take the bible's word to literally. find a deeper meaning. because God does not intend that. im positive he doenst want every human being to go to hell besides catholics. lol. thats crude, and insane.

Gandhi meant for hindus to be open minded. to study other peoples religions as well to get a very good sense to reach God head. and thus Gandhi also means that you as a christian should study hindu scripture (the some mentioned above) and the quran, and the torah, in order to reach God head.
